About the Journal
Aims and Scope
Jordan Journal of Biological Sciences (JJBS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to publishing high-quality research that advances fundamental and applied knowledge across the biological and life sciences. The journal serves as a global platform for scientists, academicians, and researchers to disseminate original findings that contribute to scientific progress and societal development.
JJBS publishes original research that addresses contemporary challenges and emerging concepts in biological sciences, including but not limited to molecular and cellular biology, genetics and genomics, microbiology, biochemistry, biotechnology, immunology, physiology, bioinformatics, systems biology, environmental biology, ecology, biodiversity, plant sciences, animal sciences, evolutionary biology, and interdisciplinary life science research. Both experimental and theoretical studies, as well as computational and applied biological investigations, are within the journal’s scope.
The journal also welcomes research related to disease biology, host–pathogen interactions, biological mechanisms of health and disease, toxicological and pharmacological biology, and translational biological studies with relevance to human, animal, or environmental health. Methodological innovations, analytical approaches, and advancements in biological techniques and data interpretation are considered an integral part of the journal’s mission.
Manuscripts are accepted in the form of Original Research Articles and Short Communications. Review Articles that provide critical evaluation, synthesis of existing knowledge, and future perspectives on current and emerging topics in biological sciences are also considered.
JJBS publishes Special Issues focused on specific thematic areas or selected conference proceedings that align with the journal’s aims and scope. Submissions slightly outside the core scope may be considered based on scientific quality, originality, and relevance to the theme of a special issue.
To support rapid dissemination of impactful research, the journal prioritizes timely publication of studies addressing global biological concerns, including emerging and re-emerging diseases, epidemics, pandemics, and other biological challenges with implications for living populations and public health.
